After completing his studies, Anthony began his career at the prestigious Royal Greenwich Observatory, where he developed expertise working on telescopes and optical instruments. This specialized knowledge made him a perfect fit when he joined SSTL in 2012, where he initially worked on Optical Imagers at the company's Sevenoaks, Kent location.
In 2014, Anthony relocated to SSTL's headquarters in Guildford, where he has continued to grow professionally. Today, he serves as our Head of IT, Security & Facilities, overseeing critical infrastructure that supports SSTL's innovative work in the space sector.
Anthony says, "Looking back at my 40-year journey from university to SSTL is remarkable—from working with terrestrial optics at the Royal Greenwich Observatory to supporting space-based imaging systems and now leading IT and facilities operations. While technology has transformed dramatically since 1985, the fundamental engineering principles and problem-solving approach I developed during my early career remain invaluable. I'm proud to contribute to SSTL's mission, applying decades of experience to help secure our digital and physical infrastructure as we continue pushing boundaries in space technology."
