This national award celebrates engineers who are shaping the future of STEM, and Jenny’s recognition highlights the depth of talent and leadership she brings to the profession - and now, to SSTL.
Reflecting on the moment, Jenny said: “What. A. Night. Yesterday I was honoured to be named as this year's IET Young Woman Engineer of the Year for 2025. I am deeply grateful for this recognition, and for the work organisations like the IET do to promote underrepresented groups in STEM. Working to ensure that little girls can dream big is how we make sure we build women who enter the profession with passion and resilience. Ultimately, I would not be where I am without so many people behind me - friends, family and colleagues - so this award is really a celebration of us all.”
Jenny joined SSTL only recently, yet her impact has already been felt across the engineering teams she collaborates with. Her clarity of thinking, technical depth, and positive presence have made an immediate impression.
Andrew Cawthorne, SSTL Managing Director, said: “Jenny’s achievement is remarkable, and we are incredibly proud to see her recognised at this level. Although she has only just joined SSTL, it is already clear what a talented and thoughtful engineer she is. We feel very fortunate to welcome her into the company at such a significant moment in her career and look forward to everything she will bring to our missions.”
Jenny’s success is a moment of celebration for her, for her supporters, and for all of us at SSTL.
Congratulations, Jenny - and welcome once again. We are thrilled to have you with us.
